Meeting 2 Recap: Building the 2025 Vision

We held a collaboration meeting on December 10th, 2025, to discuss the next steps for Michigan Women. Twenty-one people signed up, and one person attended the live meeting (thank you, Katie!😄). While I wish more people could have attended live, the number of people interacting indicates that there is still interest, so I will keep pushing forward!

Website review and feedback

November-December: I built out the website further. Every page is updated, so please check it out! The highlights include:

• About page: Clarified the organization's mission, vision, and leadership.
• What We Do: Outlined four key focus areas for Michigan Women for us to work on: Community-Driven Content, Guidance for Civic Action, Empower the Next Generation, Safe Spaces for Connection
• Get Involved: Created/updated the join, event, and volunteer landing pages.
• Logo: I am not satisfied with the logo! I am not a graphic designer, so I did my best. It's on my agenda to get creative help. I have a vision for merch like shirts, hats, mugs, and stickers, so I want the logo to be really good and meaningful!

2025 Growth Plan Discussion

We have a high-level outline of our vision for What We Do. The next step is to create the programs for each section.

Nothing will happen with Michigan Women if we don't consistently put ourselves and our ideas out there, so the first section I will work on is the Community-Driven content. I will outline the type of content we are looking for, how to submit stories, and the rules, requirements, and expectations.

Volunteers! I would love to have others help strategize and build out these programs. Sign up, and let's talk about it!

Content

My brain is on fire with so many content ideas! I will work on publishing some new blog articles over the next few weeks and maintaining a social media presence. Here are the topics in my purview right now:

• Taking Care of Each Other. I discovered this group on nextdoor and was amazed to see community members rally for each other. People are ready and willing to help, and I want to highlight and support the effort.
• Groundwater Public Trust? There are some policy proposals out there that I wanted to explore further.
• Legislative Roundup: I want to do a brief weekly or monthly outline of what is happening on Michigan's Capital Hill.
• Livingroom conversations: This website and content seem to align with the "safe spaces for connection" idea, so I want to review it and see if there is a way to leverage these resources for Michigan Women.
