Know What's Happening

Stay informed about Michigan’s challenges and successes through curated content, podcasts, and civic education tools.

The MI Community Context program expands access to information about local governance, community resources, and pressing local issues often overlooked or underrepresented in mainstream conversations. By providing a reliable and centralized platform, the program reduces frustration and empowers participants to stay informed and confidently engage with their communities.

  • MI Curated Community Resources: Access a growing library of resources to learn about, get involved with, and leverage everything our communities have to offer! (Starting soon in Q1 2025. Gathering ideas and information now.)
  • MI Civic Essentials Center: Increase civic education and awareness by understanding the basics of government and knowing your local elected officials and the bills and laws they are working on that shape our communities. (It's a work in progress but there is a good start! Check it out.)

Share Perspectives

Share perspectives through live video discussions and online forums, building relationships with neighbors and local leaders.

The MI Community Conversations program provides the opportunity, time, and space to engage with your neighbors, leaders, and community members in thoughtful discussions about the most important local issues. By joining MI Community Conversations, you’ll build relationships, gain new perspectives, and collaborate on real solutions to local issues.

  • Join a live, video-based conversation with your neighbors every other Tuesday @ 7:00 PM to learn from each other and explore community-selected topics.
  • MI Community Conversation Podcast: Hear from local leaders and dive into the issues that matter most to Michigan communities. (First interview done! The first episode release date is Feb. 19th, 2025).

The MI Community Collective program is your guide to taking action and making a meaningful impact in your community. Explore a growing list of local non-profits and causes where you can volunteer your time, share your talents, and contribute to positive change. Alongside the list, you'll find practical instructions and guidance to help you match your skills and passions with the needs of your community.
